I felt it necessary to address the issue of fraying. 

Sellers will tell you that fraying is the nature of silk, due to your beard, "it just happens", etc.

You may be told to trim the fray with scissors till no more bow tie left or use a lighter to singe the frays. Honestly singe does work, however, I find these methods and the whole issue of fraying unacceptable. Vintage bow ties do not fray and silk should not fray.

I have taken extra measures to prevent fraying but occasionally a bow tie or two will fray.  I will not ask you to trim the bow tie, as if one has time.  I will not ask you to singe the edges or do anything else.  I will ask you to let me know.  A pre-paid return envelope will be sent and you can request a refund or replace the bow tie.
